In search of Beauty

I see the Earth as a garden, and when I place myself or others into a landscape, we become sculptures in the garden. We create memories captured on film; a snapshot that forever binds this moment in time to that place. The body is abstracted, often faceless, often evoking the movements of a dancer, all in an attempt to transcend into the realm of art.

The human body gives the scene an element of scale, contrast, a focal point.

A temporary Garden Sculpture

My photographs are organized into four elements that flow from my poetry, representative of the way I reflect on the world day to day;

The Earth,

the Moon,

the Sea

& the Skies

My interest in these elements is expressed through the medium of painting and drawing as well.

These pieces allow me to experience locations around the globe in a completely different way ~ the nature of photography, while slow and methodical, becomes instantaneous when compared to the slow movement of the paintbrush. These pieces take weeks to compose and complete, allowing me to linger in the process of making while reflecting on a lived experience.
